Roll out the barrel. We'll have a barrel of fun. Roll out the barrel. We've got the blues on the run. The Beermakers. The Brew Crew. Harvey's Wallbangers. EX-Milwaukee Brewer Manager Dave Bristol once said: "There'll be two buses leaving the hotel for the park tomorrow. The two o'clock bus will be for those of you who need a little extra work. The empty bus will leave at five o'clock." These days, that five o'clock bus should have a few more passengers. A few more giving it the gassengers. A few more first classengers.

Joey Gathright- Singles Hitter
Joey Gathright of the Kansas City Royals may have speed, but that's it. He doesn't get on base (.302% of the time) and all he hits are singles (62 hits and 59 of them singles, for a .267 slugging %).

It’s All I Have Left, Folks
We may very well look back at the 4-game sweep by the Brewers as the point where the Cardinals' wheels fell off. I said yesterday, I didn't expect to win the CC Sabathia game, but in all 3 others we had a lead late into the game and our bullpen blew it. That is unacceptable. [...]
JoeSportsFan Gone Blogging on the Radio
Yesterday morning, our own Patrick Imig appeared once again via the magical lines of telephone communication on the 360 Sports Buffet on Team 1380 AM in St. Louis. As was the case last week, we've chopped up the segment into convenient parts for your listening pleasure.

Ryan Braun is the Hero of the Night
In a season that is starting to look more and more special each day, it seems there's a new hero each day as well. The last couple of days it has been Bill Hall and Thursday night was Ryan Braun's turn. With the Brewers trailing 3-2 in the ninth, Braun came up to bat with JJ Hardy on first. Braun launched a Ryan Franklin pitch into deep left-center to give the Brewers a 4-3 lead.
Gathright to DL, Maier Called Up
From a Royals Press Release:The Kansas City Royals have placed outfielder Joey Gathright on the 15-day disabled list with a bone bruise in his right shoulder and recalled outfielder Mitch Maier from Triple-A Omaha. Maier is in the lineup tonight batting 9th and playing centerfield. Maier is 26 years old and hitting .316 with Omaha.
Cubs lead about to drop to 1 game
Down 5-1 going to the 8th. So far in the 2nd half the Cubs have scored 1, 1, 9, 0, and 1 run. The last one, of course, depends on the last 2 innings of tonight's game. The Brewers are now 1 out as they beat the Cardinals. They have the easier schedule and 7 of 10 at home against the Cubs. The Cubs have gone from virtual locks to win this division to not being favored to...
Game 101: Tigers at Royals
PREGAME: The Tigers have now scored 500 runs on the season - exactly. That's only 19 games later than expected by many. The Tigers also come into today's game at 2 games over .500. That's been their highwater mark for the season. It's a mark they first reached on July 2nd, [...]SHARETHIS.addEntry({ title: "Game 101: Tigers at Royals", url: "http...

Brewers Not Looking at Sherrill
It has been widely reported that the Brewers were in hot pursuit of O's George Sherrill but GM Doug Melvin refuted that yesterday to the Milwaukee Sentinel-Journal. He said he had not had discussions with the Orioles about him and did not expect to.
Let’s Get One Win and Look Ahead…
The 4-game sweep of the Padres was soured slightly by our complete implosion against the Brewers. Last night was no big surprise. CC Sabathia pitched lights out, just like I expected. But we SHOULD be 2-1 in the series. Our freaking bullpen gave away games 1 and 2. You cannot like that. It doesn't look [...]
There’s Nothing Better To Cure What Ail’s Ya’ Than A Series With The Royals
Every time I think the Tigers have proven they have no chance of making a postseason run they come out with a stellar performance that makes them look like a championship contender. Sure, their latest superb performance may have come against the lowly Royals, but a three-game sweep in which you outscore your opponents 33-6 [...]
Brewers cut Braun, Torres
MILWAUKEE, WI — The Milwaukee Brewers made a stunning move following their four-game sweep of the Cardinals Thursday, when they released Ryan Braun and Solomon Torres, two of the best players on their team.
“Basically, when we looked at the fabric of our club, these guys just don’t fit in anymore,” said Brewers manager Ned Yost. [...]
