Schilling says Clemens should give back CY Young awards

The ever soft spoken Schilling came out today with some advice for Roger

" Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling called on Roger Clemens to give up the four Cy Young Awards he's won since 1997 if he can't clear his name from allegations that he used steroids to prolong and enhance his career."

You have to agree with him, makes plenty of sense.

Schilling Soft spoken, funny. I just cant wait for his name to drop in all this mess too.

This guy Schilling...I'm even a Sox fan, and you should hear all the crap he says to local media about everything all season long...unbearable...Schilling maybe can grab a few of Roger's Cy youngs, cuz this joker Schilling doesn't have one...hmmmm, reason for his asinine comments towards Clemens?...ashamed of this joker and still not sure that was real blood on his sock against NYY that year...peace

i can't stand schilling, what a friggin moron.

If you know anything about Schill...you would know that Clemens played a major role in making him the pitcher he became. I am sure that this was hard for Schill to write. But for his call outs on Bonds/Canseco, not to do the same to Clemens would color him a hypocrite. And one thing Schill is, is consistent in his opinions. Like him or not...I don't think he's a moron...

Yeah it was hard for him to write, but that's because he's moronic jackass. Writing is tough for him in general.

Fact........Schilling is a moron.

Fact..... Schilling is a DAMN moron, he thrives on his media ops, and his opinions mean jack sh!t to me. Cherry koolaid sock wearing prick. Baseball has moved from a game to entertainment, not that i agree but like it or not people want to see a show. And with what it costs to see a pro sports event today people want more bang for the buck. Also at the same time, cheating is cheating. Such a tough subject.

yeah, agree he is a blowhard, but alot of damn Yankees on Mr. Mitchell's report...lose the bitterness of 04 and 07 though...you guys have Larry Flint running your team...Hank?...what a fuckin jerk...and can't wait until we fight for division again...oh yeah, was your last ring before y2k?

I don't even like the Yankees. But, I do respect the hell out of Clemens AND still will even if it does turn out that he used steroids. Schilling can sit on it.

bitter and bitter #2...I'm enjoying our win this year...I propose this Crankees: us in Boston have the designs to relocate the sad sack minority Yankees fans here to one of your Jersey Garbage barges...a nice relocation...we don't want Santana either....now I know why Pettitte has that rubber arm...and get your fuckin facts straight before you insinuate steroid use on BOS crybabies!!...a royal gfy!!!

Schilling is a woman in a man's body. Bloody sock? Big deal.

Here's my deal-- The Mitchell report was ONE list. Who's to say "the rightful owners" were not juiced? Also, it would not shock me if a couple of distinguished Sox were breathing a bit easier after they realized they were not in the report.

schilling needs to shut the fuck up. i dont even like Clemens, but i just hate schilling even more now because he talks to damn much.

The fact of the matter is this is what other players should be doing, calling these guys out. They are cheaters and Clemens is juts like Bonds now! It's too bad other players didn't have the brass balls Schilling does. Yes at times he spouts off, but this is someone that he looked too and had a major impact on his career.

Schilling's not looking to pick up any of Roger's CY's as someone suggested earlier, he pitched in the NL when Roger was winning them in the AL.

Schilling's in the very comfortable position of not having to call out a teammate on the performance enhancing drug issue. Why? Because one of his executives wrote the report, and didn't include any Red Sox in it.

LOL, that's a good one.

Typical Sox fan: "Our shit doesn't stink."

another blinded to "reality" to the truth from a bitter Yankees fan..."our shit doesn't stink"...sure it does...but a "steroid-free shit scent"...Yankees Fans before and after 2004: "our shit doesn't hasn't stunk since you got you Babe, huge amount of titles, and massive payroll no one could touch until 7-8 years ago, i.e. ATL, BOS,LADODGE, and love the the METROPOLITANS, all who can now can go 150 mil/yr...some teams finally caught up to you with better front office's and 50-65 less mil to play with...that's the reality...and it makes NYY fans squirm...take all your storied franchises in every sport and evaluate arrogance: Yankees still #1 by far in that category, again in any sport...sure, on article will reiterate we get tired of Schilling here...but he doesn't juice...I do like one Yankee...Hideki, who your tying to run out of town...your front office is like Coruscant in Star Wars...omnipotent and blinded by arrogance...and I'll say, even though we have 2 titles this century, we still get apprehensive...so, how can you say we are arrogant...we're doom and gloom still, albeit less now...a true respectful and objective Yankees fan knows that...so, schilling=most BOS fans dislike...he's even trying to butter up Clemens after his "comments" today on espn news...Johan in pinstripes, we want that as well...we'll keep our young arms and the three skill position prospects

and if your capable of being objective, we've had Juicers, like every team...and if you get the facts from our local media via credible national beat writers, Clemens was using roids here too...we don't hide that fact...Jose in BOS (94-95) is when it started...before Toronto...we concede that...bottom line: 08' and fallout from report will be interesting and good article

Did I hit a nerve?

For starters, I do not generally use personal pronouns when referring to teams I root for unless I play for them. I do not work for the Yankees or own a piece of the team and I am not involved in the operations, hiring, or firing. I do not vote for or against any of the decisions made by those who do. I am not deluded so as to think that I am responsible for the successes or shortcomings of my favorite team. Since my ascent to Yankee fan began (when my grandmother, who loved Whitey Ford very much, sat me in front of the TV to watch games as a toddler), the team's handlers have made some rather corporatist and at times despicable decisions. Were I to stop rooting for the Yankees I would be the exact type of fan that other fans such as those we find at Yardbarker criticize vehemently. Were I to switch allegiances, I would face the same scrutiny. I don't believe that the Yankees and the Steinbrenners are the same thing, just as I do not believe politicians and the USA are the same thing. I am far from arrogant where the Yankees are concerned, after all, their accomplishments and history are not my own. I have no grand delusions in this regard. Furthermore, I do not equate neurotic allegiance, bandwagon scrutiny, violent aggression, or racial bombs as "arrogant"--nor did I say Sox fans were arrogant (at least not by virtue of being Sox fans).

Secondly, your favorite team's shit and my favorite team's shit may stink at the same time--there is no exclusivity there.

Third, steroid-free shit? Would you bet money on that? If you would, you demonstrate my reason for the comment. How likely is it that the Red Sox Organization is drug-free?

Finally, I can be objective. In fact, yesterday I referred to Clemens as a "liar" and a "cheater". Is that strong enough criticism to demonstrate objectivity? I also swear at the front office when they overpay, fume when they disrespect people like Bernie Williams, and plead to the thin air that they need to invest in people like Melky, Robinson, Joba, Ian, and Phil.

What the hell else can I do?

I have absorbed your points and they are decent ones...But I did state that we have had juicers and Clemens started it here in BOS BEFORE TOR...and I'm not massive sting name-calling "Crankees", c'mon...that's jest...think of all the names we have been called the last 90 years...and all the shit stinks comment, did you drop your sense of humor?, but I am sticking to fact we don't juice as much as your team...and the "figure of speech wording" as "using pronouns and sounding like I am an owner/player/manager, etc.", your reading into what I type too much...we, as in BOS Fan, as in supporting my team...most fans say "we" at times...so, no, I do not play for BOS, but "we" fans want them to win...good post...props and don't be worried about saying "we" will do this and that...most people on here know what we all mean

No, I still have my sense of humor, and a few pulls of vodka to loosen up my high horse. The bottom line is OUR shit stinks the worst and I'm just pissed that I have to live with it. It's cool. I'll be at the 4th of July series for sure and hopefully by then my guys will resemble real humans.

it's fun...NY-BOS: best rivalry going...we feed off each other...should be good 08' season...you guys are loaded again...your there every year...Detroit looks lethal now...we'll see...honestly, I don't expect repeat at all...too much can happen in Baseball...too many intangibles...and yes, my cousin in Connecticut is going to that series as well...and he is rubbing it in too...lol Franzen...your a cool dude...may the best team win is all...just play the season

Is Schilling going to give back his World Series rings if his teammates were juicing? Does anyone, outside of Schilling, believe that only the guys on Mitchell's list were juicing? Didn't think so. I guarantee Schilling has had teammates that were taking steroids or HGH whether he wants to believe it or not.

Good point. Matt Williams made the list, yes? He was on the 2001 D-Backs.

of course, that's explains their victory over Crankees...I recall Matt Williams was in a wheelchair every at bat he was so injury-racked...man, if it wasn't for him, the Crankees would have "juiced another" series win...BALANCE is the word: every team takes "treats"...some more than others...I want your proof the Sox were mass juicing Cjoe and Franzen...produce the evidence and source asap please

You scream for objectivity and then name-call. I guess it isn't cheating if the player only hits 16 home runs. Produce evidence of what? Source of what? Should we only write here about things we have proof of? Is that what you want? Okay- the US landed on the moon in 1969. Okay, bad example. You and I have no way of proving beyond a reasonable doubt that Clemens did it. I believe he did, but that is my instinct and intuition. Neither one of those is evidence. We write about our opinions using reasonable statements and tact. Then we fire back counterpoints using reasons and examples. At no time do I ever imagine I am in a courtroom.

a complex fan I am...moody...never know what I will say until I sit down...but always appreciate and respond to good peeps who have a point...peace

Schilling, should shut the fu#k up. everything including mitchell report is targeted against the Yanks.

yes, it does expose NY....Knoblach, et al...explains alot from 1996 to 2000

Word

I can hardly wait for the other shoe to drop. This runs way deeper than the report indicates. While I hate all this, I want it all out there so people can get over it, and then I want it to go back in the closet where it belongs.

and, Schilling is a jackass

shill knows what he is doing, fcuk clemens
