Gary Sheffield is an angry gentleman. Well, let's just say he is an angry man. After his overreactions this weekend, which led to a benches clearing brawl, Sheffield was still angry. "He'll get taken care of, trust me," Sheffield said. "If you take a cheap shot at me, I'll never forget it. I won't forget it until the day I die."

  • Sheffield is a loser. Unlike most players, he hasn't matured over the course of his career. He thinks he's a tough guy but he ends up just looking like a douche bag. Learn to control your temper once in a while.
  • Sure he'll make the guy pay..... just as soon as he can see again, nyuk, nyuk.

Fausto Carmona vs Gary Sheffield fight

Who doesn't love a good brawl especially when it deals with two heavyweights like Gary Sheffield and Fausto Carmona. The Cleveland Indians pitcher beaned Sheffield, who was none too please. Tensions were high and then exploded as Sheff charged the mound, was put in a headlock and repeatedly hit on top of his head by Carmona. I expected more out of Gary! Video of the fight

They're Not Saying "Boo"...

Tribe fans, your team is officially over .500 for the first time since mid-May. Thanks to a strong second half (31-17 since August 1), the Indians have not only been able to get fans down to the park, but have managed to put up some excellent numbers to go with a few exciting made for tv moments...

Fan of the Week :: Louisville Chugger

[Be sure to check out our new morning feature entitled "The Morning Tailgate" - posted daily in, well, the mornings.] Our fan hunters did a little investigative journalism in Columbia, Missouri this past weekend when the Mizzou Tigers took down the University of Buffalo, 42-21. Much like George Constanza's urge to combine the features of food, sex, and television...

Our own Indians hall of fame

On the weekend of the Indians' Hall of Fame festivities, my brother - Greg Vallo - put together a little slide show of Tribies from year's gone by. How many can you name? I'd say I got 95% of the ones after 1960.

Willis to Boston?

According to Jon Paul Morosi, the Tigers will look to trade one of their pitchers this offseason and will eye a shortstop in return. He points out that the Red Sox want to unload Julio Lugo to make room for Jed Lowrie, a new fan favorite and potential long term replacement at shortstop. If the Red Sox were to trade Lugo for Willis, both of whom are locked up through 2010, they would...

Sheffield and Ventura join same Facebook group

DETROIT — Gary Sheffield became the second member of a Facebook group that Robin Ventura started today when the slugging outfielder joined “Put in a headlock and pummeled while charging the mound,” a new group on Facebook started by Ventura. Sheffield, who charged the mound last week against the Cleveland Indians, only to be headlocked and [...]

The Poor Man's Nolan Ryan vs. Robin Ventura

It would have been understandable if you missed it, because the game meant nothing, but the Indians and Tigers brawled last night. Gary Sheffield took off from first base after a pick-off attempt, and Indians' pitcher Fausto Carmona did his best Nolan Ryan impression.

The Morning Tailgate

Every Tailgate has a pecking order. At some point during the pre-game festivities, the grill is broken out, the bratwursts are piled on and by the time they're nice and juicy you've got several meatheads lined up with buns in hand waiting impatiently. But only one person can be in the prestigious position to accept the first one off the grill. There's something to...

A last father-daughter trip to Yankee Stadium

I made my last trip ever to Yankee Stadium last night, and it brought back memories of my 25 seasons of watching baseball at the game's greatest ballpark. It was also a night that had the potential to be a moment for a father and his daughter to share a special memory. That part was not to be - but we'll get to that. Most New Yorkers have their own special memories of Yankee...

Headlock and Pummel!

Do I need to say anything more? This is the best picture of the season right here.. Expect a big LOLTribe when this series is over..That is all.. Thank you and Sheffield still sucks.

Casey Blake to Dodgers....

....for what looks like a candidate for next year's pen and Victor's replacement at catcher when he is forced to move to 1B in a couple of years to save his body. Those are just my quick first impressions, so I can't vouch for their soundness.Family party keeping me from doing more now. I will have more late tonight or tomorrow after I have a chance to research the new...

Beckett and Sox can clinch playoff berth tonight

The Sox are still in the hunt for the AL East division title, but the can assure themselves a spot in the post season with a win over the Indians tonight - or a Yankee loss. Josh Beckett will get the start for the Sox and has been looking more and more like the pitcher that dominated the post... Click the link to read more...

Indians 4, Sox 3 WP: Jackson (1-3) LP: Beckett (12-10) SV: Lewis (12) HRs: BOS-Ortiz (23); CLE-None Summary: A fluke play cost the Sox a run, and Josh Beckett's first sub-par performance of September cost the team a shot at wrapping up a playoff spot as Cleveland capitalized on a wild night from the Sox ace and staved off [...]

Gimme a break!!

Well the Tribe is giving thier fans a break today, after the twin disasters in Tampa on Tuesday and Wednesday. There's no game tonight. Thank God! Even better, there's a Browns' preseason game to view - something to take our minds further away from the Tribe. What can you say about the last two games?. It's clear the Tribe has no bullpen to work with for next year...
