Moving and Shaking with Pat Burrell
Pat The Bat Burrell is playing like a man possessed by the ghost of Babe Ruth. Today he took acoustic rock god Bronson Arroyo deep twice, and has gone Yahtzee! 3 times on the season. Through 7 games, he's 10-23 for a .435 average with 4 runs scored, 3 doubles, the previously mentioned 3 longballs (Burrell loves that he has longballs, he's a mackdaddy that way), 9 rbi, 4 walks...
Bronson Arroyo is Officially Off My Fantasy Team
If you haven't heard; Bronson Arroyo can play the guitar. He also is a commercial star in the Cincinnati area as well. Arroyo starred in a commercial when he arrived in Cincy and just got done filming his second spot for an angus burger provider. Enjoy!
Reds have improved dramatically
You heard it here. The Cincinnati Reds took giant strides to improve this year, just by signing Dusty Baker, and promoting Johnny Cueto to the big league level. This kid may just have the best young arm in MLB. Time will tell, but early indications show that this young righty, under the tutelage of Mario Soto, will continue to get better. Barring arm problems, I will predict...
David Weathers Must Go
David Weathers lost another game for the Reds last night and it is getting old. He almost blew Cueto's major legue debut last week, and again he pitched awfully last night. Cincy, please give up on this guy. He may be a nice guy, but he is a loser as a pitcher. In a related story, Adam Dunn better start hitting or my prediction of the Reds having a good season will be a bad...
Appreciating Greatness
Every year when the Brewers schedule comes out I always look to see when the Cincinnati Reds come to town. I can almost be guaranteed to see exciting ball games but more importantly I get a chance to see one of the greatest players of all-time: Ken Griffey Jr.
I know fan protocol says you cheer your heart out for your team and boo the opposition unmercifully. I've never been...
LOOK OUT FOR JOHNNY CUETO?
The Brewers face the Reds Tuesday night and young arm Johnny Cueto takes the mound.
The worm has definitely turned
I try to keep this blog on the analytical tip, so I try to stay away from "symbolic" moments, but this one I can't resist. It happened, ironically, in the first inning of the only Brewer loss so far this season. On a simple fly ball to right, Brewers 2nd baseman Rickie Weeks tagged up and charged for the plate. The Cubs new RF Fukudome made a horrible decision to make...
Mets expected to sign Vargas
The New York Mets look like they may have begun to address the injury problems that are already striking their starting rotation. The team is on the verge of signing free-agent Claudio Vargas to a AAA minor league deal. According to Vargas agent, Bean Stringfellow, there were four teams showing interest in him and that the Mets are the favorite. I'm not sure how believable that...
In Depth Game Analysis
Yesterday WSBGM's had a compound of the minds; Carson & Corey viewed the 8-2 thrashing of the Philadelphia Phillies at the hands of the Cincinnati Reds together. Here is what transpired...
12:00 - Time for baseball, alcohol, and vittles.
12:13 - Jalapeno chips, an Italian sub, and Mexican cervesas are a top-of-the-line lunch menu.

Series Recap: Giants at Brewers
After the Cubs series, I was happy with a series win. Going into the series with the Giants, anything less than a sweep would have been a disappointment. The Giants are in a state a flux and just not very good right now. If the Brewers Canning-Craft-Beer are going to be a playoff team, these are the type of things they need to do to attain that goal.

DBacks make another trade
The Arizona Diamondbacks added some bullpen depth today making a minor trade with the Cincinnati Reds. In the deal, the Diamondbacks received left-handed reliever Jon Coutlangus, a player the Reds placed on waivers just a few days ago. Coutlangus did clear waivers and the surprising thing is that almost no team showed any interest him, not a good sign for a lefty.

Up is down. Down is up. Topsy Turvy. Everything is upsy-daisy. Topsy Turvy. Everyone is acting crazy. A little over a week in the books and we got a whole bunch of who woulda thunks.
A Little This and That
To anyone who does have expertise with Pitch F/X, I will be needing any pointers I can get, so please drop some hints for me if you can (my contact information is listed at the bottom of this page). I'm really interested in learning how to create graphs like the ones Mike Fast has in this article about Johnny Cueto's first start. I've also read his tutorial on building...
