Found April 06, 2009 on Eli's MLB Rumors:
Booth Newspapers is reporting that Tigers pitcher Nate Robertson feels his days as a Tiger are numbered. "The cycle of a player's time in an organization comes and goes, and maybe my time is nearing its end," he said. Robertson is extremely disappointed by his demotion to the bullpen, but he was out pitched by Rick Porcello and Armando Gallaraga, who took the fourth and fifth spots, respectively.
Robertson would be a great fit for the Padres, but has 17 million dollars remaining on his contract. The Tigers are having serious financial woes and may be forced to dump some of their players with big contracts. You can expect to see Jeremy Bonderman, Dontrelle Willis, Nate Robertson, Carlos Guillen, and Magglio Ordonez on the block if the Tigers do not get off to a good stop.

Blogging From Florida - Dontrelle Willis Holds Head High

Dontrelle Willis struggled against the Reds today in Lakeland, failing to get out of the third inning before reaching his pitch count. Control was the issue, as the Tigers lefthander walked four of the 13 hitters he faced. Willis addressed the media after his outing. On his lackluster outing: "My co...

Detroit Detours for Two Tigers

He has been named an All-Star nine times and sits perched ten home runs away from 500. One could easily argue he is one of the most intimidating hitters of his era. His swing is undoubtedly one of the game's most violent (if nothing else). Despite losing a metaphorical step, he still smacked 25 dingers and drove in 75 runs last year (he even swiped 22 bases). Prior to opening day...

Johan Makes Fish Look Foolish In Dominant Opener

It was impossible to ignore how much has changed for both clubs since last September, when Miguel Cabrera and Dontrelle Willis were still members of the Fish, and Johan Santana was pitching for the Minnesota Twins. Five months later, Florida's dynamic duo is gone, and the Marlins' $17 million payroll falls $2 million shy of the $19 million the Mets will pay Santana to be their ace this season.
