Top 10 Reasons to be Pissed

I decided to kick it David Letterman style here at WSBGM's today with a Top 10 Reasons to be Pissed Off About Yesterday's Disgusting Loss...

#10 - Charlie Manuel may have been shorthanded with both Shane Victorino and Jimmy Rollins unavailable to leadoff, but sticking Geoff Jenkins in the 1-hole neither cute nor intelligent, it was stupid.

#9 - The Pat Burrell Rule (whereas he must be lifted in late innings) came back to haunt the Phils yet again as So Taguchi came up in a pivotal at bat and grounded out on 1 pitch to end the game.

#8 - The Phillies are adverse to bunting successfully, but they try plenty, just to no avail.

#7 - Pedro "Out Machine" Feliz is good at being bad offensively and his defense has been far less glamorous than advertised.

#6 - Geoff Jenkins dropped a very catchable foul ball that allowed Derek Lee to prolong his at bat in the 3rd inning which ended with him doubling and the Cubs scoring runs. Jenkins also had a horrible at bat where he failed to even muster up a sac fly.

#5 - Tom Gordon is mysteriously still the go-to guy as set-up man...why?! He has proven to be hittable and to give up big runs (11.12 era and 2.12 whip). So why bring him in to pitch the 8th with a 1-run lead? To make matters worse, JC Romero, he of 0.00 era, was available.

#4 - Any ball thrown that bounces on its journey towards Ryan Howard's mitt is sure to either in turn bounce off said mitt or by it...make some scoops 10 Million Dollar Man!!!

#3 - The Phillies are once again sub .500, this doesn't sit well with me despite J-Roll's proclamation that the Phils will be fine if they finish April with a .500 record.

#2 - The Phillies committed 2 more errors today, with the killer blow being chalked up to Chase Utley's 4th screw-up of the season in the top of the 10th on what should have been a double play to end the inning.

#1 - Fake homeruns shouldn't count! 3rd base umpire awarded Mark DeRosa with a homerun that was obviously foul. Manuel got booted from the game for arguing. Burrell did his best to convince the ump that it was foul and to ask for help on the call, but in the end the "homerun" stood and ended up being the difference in the ball game.

Stupid umps!

Letterman's Top 10

Nothing to add.You have covered all the reasons my television is in pieces in the alley.

I believe you can sue the Phillies for destruction of property through means of evoking your rage.

personally, i dont think you can say it COST the game, granted it was a run that should never have counted but in the end it was a judgment call. what did cost the game is the phillies bullpen. the phillies overcame the bad call, and did take the lead back only to blow it.

so saying thats the only reason it cost the phillies the game, isn't even close to accurate.

The Phils lost by 1 run, DeRosa's fake "homerun" was 1 run...you do the math.

It was a coalition force of bad calls, yet again, bad fielding, yet again , Tom Gordon, yet again, no Romero, yet again, that cost the game.

thank you booger, it was multiple things you cant just blame it on one..

just like last nights sixers game you cant blame it on one bad referee's call..

I didn't just blame it on one thing. If you read the entire article, there were 9 or so more things I blamed the loss on.
