There isn't a more known number associated with a record in sports than 56.

4000 hits is pretty elusive as well. Gwynn didn't do it, Brett didn't do it, Boggs didn't come close and if Ichiro (who may be too old to do it) doesn't break 3500 I will be certain that Pete Rose will never see anyone catch him.
