  He shouldn't even be allowed to qualify for All Star Game. The best "movement" would be to have nobody show up at the All Star game at all, meaning the fans. I deeply admire the MLB in everything it does for the community, but a fan run "steroid free day" would be awesome. Pick a day of the year, maybe the All Star Game, and all fans sacrifice their tickets in protest of what has been going on in Baseball.

      The MLB deserves that type of response from the fans. I agree, in the past I think fans more willing to make sacrifices, today we are spoiled. Now we can just jump on Yard Barker to voice displeasure, too easy.

  Oh please. I'd rather vote for someone who deserves it. He certainly does not deserve it. They always talk about protecting the intergrity of baseball. Well this certainly does not protect it.

  Why don't we just vote in Big Papi while we're at it. Everyone knows it's a popularity contest. So who gives a crap! Go ahead and vote in A-Roid. Did Clemens retire? Put him in too! It's a joke. I just don't wanna' see anymore tie games. Also, the rule that the winning league gets homefield in the series has got to go!! It's time for Bud Selig to go too! I used to look forward to the All Star game every year. I barely watch anymore.

  So Harry, what is it the Boston fans did to cheat? If you're still ranting about the Pats, then you're as dillusional as all the other complainers. Every team was doing things to gain advantages over other teams against the rules. It's just the Eric Magenious had an ax to grind and turned the Pats in. But now he's swimming against the tide in Cleveland, so we won't be hearing from him anytime soon, other than when he's fired.
  
  As for Manny, he cheated! Reward cheaters? Just wait until he grows tired of LA, then all the Manny luva's will be just as disappointed as us Boston non-cheater fans. It is tough not to be a fan of winners, isn't it?

    This is the first I've heard of Boston teams cheating Dave. I didn't know anybody in a Red Sox uniform tested positive for a banned substance. This is news to me. I'm looking all over the sports pages but can't find any. All I see is the Phillies world series hero J.C. Romero. Matt Walsh lied too. There were no superbowl walkthrough tapes. You would be bitter too Dave if you were from Philly. Can you imagine celebrating a regular season victory against the Cowboys like they won the superbowl. The greatest thing being from The City Of Champions is that nobody can ever say we cheated. Josh Beckett never got suspended for cheating in the World Series. We're so fortunate to be New England sports fans.

  The all star voting system is a joke. It's a popularity contest, which has let Jeter in for years. His numbers however, do not warrant his selections. MLB needs a better system, they need to get folks in based on numbers and not popularity.
  As far as Manny goes, I use to like him, but I will not vote for someone who takes steriods, how pathetic. I hate these guys who take steriods and ultimately take away roster spots from guys who work there butts off to get to the bigs. This roid heads should be banned permanently, it's not hard to keep drugs out of your body. No sympathy for Manny and keep him out of the All-star game.

    Derek is closing in on a 3000 hit career and has been one of the best defensive shortstops in the game through out his career. He is also one of the classiest leaders the game has ever seen as well. You're not a Yankee hater are you? I get the Yankee hating thing from people who root for teams that rarely compete, but hating Derek Jeter, that's just ridiculous.

      Giantsrepeat! Jeter rhymes with cheater. Only kidding dude. He's one of the classiest players to ever play the game and one of the most clutch hitting post season players to ever play the game. Boston hates Rodriguez but I don't think anybody really dislikes Jeter in Boston. There's a tremendous amount of respect for him because of the way he conducts himself and what he has done for the game. So many of his great clutch plays in the post season will not show up in the stat book but he is probably the greatest post season player I have ever seen. When the Sox got their rings in 2005 Jeter stood outside the dugout and cheered for them. I hate the Yankees giantsrepeat but Jeter is an exception. In my lifetime he is the greatest Yankee. He's a true legend.

        Thanks for showing class and dignity jayson. As a Yankee fan I would not say I hate the Red Sox, but the rivalry is strong, hate is a strong word. I love the competition between our teams, best rivalry in sports. And you guys have handed us our asses in 5 games so far. It's fitting that the standings have our teams 1 and 2 again. Toronto was playing well there for awhile and Tampa has shown they are a one hit wonder, when their talented stars are free agents they will free themselves from playing in front of crowds of 1000 or less on a nightly basis. May the Yankees red Sox rivalry live on forever.

    Yeah but ARods situation is similar to Jason Giambi, he was caught and fessed up like a man. ARod is clean right now and still murdering the cowhide. I get that there are people who don't like him, but like him or not you have to admit that he is one helluva player. I don't like Manny, mainly because he quit on his team in Boston, and that is the worst thing you can do as an athlete. But I also acknowledge that Manny is one of the best hitters in the game. I just feel the commissioner needs to step in and put all this speculation to rest by saying Manny will not play if elected because it sends the wrong message to the youth of America. That would be another form of damage control for the game. I also still have a problem that the only name leaked from the list of 104 players was ARods, that is really screwed up. Oh and Model E, me likey the new pictures you placed on your home page, very stunning. You got it going on girl.

  I used to love the All Star game. It was great to see all these great players together. There are some great memories, but a lot was tarnished by the famous tie game. Now there is more meaning with home field advantage riding on it. I have not voted this year. When I voted in the past, I tried to base my votes on that year's stats and impact. I don't always vote for Braves' players, even though I like to see them in the game. Manny does not deserve to be in the game. MLB should have a rule limiting elgibility of players suspended for violating the drug policy. The NFL did that a few years ago. I'm sure MLB will address it in 20 or 30 years!!
