PLAYERS: Brian Bruney

The Yankees just got back the result of Chien-Ming Wang's MRI, and its bad. From Pete Abraham: Imaging studies revealed a mid-foot sprain of the Lisfranc ligament of the right foot and a partial tear of the peroneal longus tendon of the right foot. Along with Brian Bruney, that's two lisfranc injuries in one season for the Yankees, which is just plain bad luck. It has nothing to do with being out of shape, and these types of injuries are extremely uncommon for baseball players, but none of that matters right now. The Yankees will now look for a replacement, and if I were Brian Cashman, I would look internally before looking to the trade market.
