Even though Griffey is well past his prime, the Braves figured that Junior would be somewhat productive and on top of that, he would bring in enough revenue to justify the signing. However, as we all know now, Junior did not sign with the Braves. Instead, he went back to his old stomping grounds and signed with the Seattle Mariners. Everyone in Seattle rejoiced while Braves fans were left stranded at the alter without Junior. But as we look at the signing now, it appears as though the...

The Braves come out Swinging

The Atlanta Braves won the first two games after the all star break much the way they won the first two of the season: by hitting homers, pitching well, and playing fundamentally sound baseball. A Tale of Two Teams: What the Atlanta Braves Can Learn from the Giants' Success

A lot has been made over the course of the 2009 season about how the Atlanta Braves and the San Fransisco Giants both need to add a big bat to their line-ups. These thoughts are certainly not misplaced. Through 90 games for the Braves and 89 games for the Giants they both have shown a propensity for spotty, mediocre hitting. They sport team batting averages of .261 and .262 respectively...

Braves Start the Second Half on Fire

Ladies and gentlemen, this is your Atlanta Braves. This is the team that has been fighting to break through all season long. This is the brand of baseball that these Braves were predicted to play in April and May. With Maddux in the booth, Jair...
