Will Helton Be Traded to the Red Sox?

do the sox want to take such a big contract on though? they've already invested a lot of money everywhere...dont forget ortiz in that lineup.

It sounds like the Rockies are driving trade talks here. $90 million for an aging player with obvious back problems should raise some serious flags for the Sox. It would be exciting to see what Helton could do in the middle of a powerful AL batting order.

The Red Sox have no problem adding payroll. They were the 2nd highest spending team in 2006 with $120 million and they have clearly indicated that they have no problem opening up the check book to keep up the cold war escalation mentality between them and the Bombers.

I actually like this deal a lot for the Sox. I think Helton is far from done. Hansen has yet to prove himself and Lowell has already proven himself average at best.
