Philadelphia Freedom
Last night something happened in Philadelphia. It was more than just a win. It was more than a World Series championship. It was a giant sigh of relief. A weight was lifted off an entire fan base. After 25 years of no championships for a city, years of almosts wons, years of letdowns, last night the city rejoiced. And I was lucky enough to be around for it.

The Celebration Last Night from Broad Street in Philly
The Phillies are your 2008 World Series Champions. This video isn't really over the top with violence although it does feature bonfires, street signs being ripped down, and a tree being violently shook. Congrats to the Phillies, their fans, and especially series MVP Cole Hamels who was absolute money this postseason.

Maybe we've been a little critical on this whole new Rays Nation thing.
It's just a little weird, witnessing a whole slue of bandwagoners emerge in a matter of months. At least with the Red Sox in 2004, there was the entire off-season as a grace period before the pink hats began full force.

I will be the first to admit I didn't think they would be able to do it. I really wasn't rooting for anyone. The Rays were a great story and it would have been nice to see a team go from worst to first. On the other hand I wanted to see some players like Lidge, Jenkins, Utley...etc. take that trophy home to Philadelphia. I just thought the starting pitching outside of Hamels...
