Will Witherspoon, Dan Morgan's former roommate, signed as a free agent with the St. Louis Rams during the offseason. This year, Morgan took advantage of his right as a veteran to have a room to himself during training camp. The reason? He needs the space for his newest purchase, a $20,000 hyperbaric chamber. Morgan, who isn't injured, thinks the chamber will help him take a proactive approach towards staying healthy in 2006. The chambers are known for increasing blood flow and aiding in recovery time. Morgan says he can already tell the difference in how his body has felt during camps.
"Since I've used it, I've really felt better," Morgan said. "I can notice the difference just in the way your body feels and the way you recover from workouts and soreness."
I think this might be the start of a new NFL fad. I'm actually surprised it didn't catch on faster after T.O's celebrated use of Hyperbaric Chambers during the Eagles Superbowl run. I guess it's good. It's not steroids, but things are going to start getting a little creepy if dorms/hotels have 53 NFL players sleeping in chambers after practices. It's a little cultish for the ordinarily stiff NFL.
