Yesterday was by far the greatest day I have ever experienced as a fan. Sure, I was giddy when the Astros advanced to the World Series. I remember having a wild time when Jeff Kent hit a walk off home run to go up 3-2 in the NLCS. I can remember the last game of the NLCS in 1986. Baseball has had great days and it will always have great days. Yet, nothing will compare to yesterday. Yesterday provided triple the excitement and also vindicated an outgoing commissioner all at the same time. Well, at least Bud will be outgoing following 2012 and his lasting stamp on the game could very well be the wild card. Without the wild card, yesterday would just be a footnote in the history books.
