Could a 27-year-old former professional baseball player make it as a football Bulldog? The following comment from a message board raises the possibility.
Sorry if already discussed but Jai Miller is apparently pretty certain that he is going to enroll and play college football. He is also down to Alabama and Georgia it appears. For those who do not remember, Jai was a very highly recruited athlete out of Alabama 9 years ago. He was a three sport star and ultimately pick Stanford over Alabama to play college football and basketball. Jai was then selected by the Marlins very high in the MLB draft and decided to play pro baseball.Jai made it to the big leagues with the Marlins, Royals, and A's but did not play this past year. Since then, he has been rumored to be coming back to college football. He would likely play receiver and is 6'3" and about 215 pounds. It may be awhile before Jai is back in football shape but he would be an interesting story. He would be walking on with his baseball money paying his way so pretty low risk gamble for Alabama or Georgia if they see any potential there.
