Over the past year or so, Indians management had been using Padres starting pitcher Jake Peavy's contract as a negotiation reference with C.C. Sabathia and his agent. Both pitchers were recent Cy Young winners and both are still in their late 20's in terms of age. Of course, by now we all know about the likely wise business decision Sabathia and his agent are making by hitting the market this fall. So what's next for the Indians?
Well, it looks like Jake Peavy himself has hit the trade market. According to ESPN.com, "sources" are saying the Padres are currently guaging interest in the 27-year-old right hander. It is believed that the (surprise!) Yankees, Braves, and perhaps the Dodgers are already exploring possibilities. So what about the Indians?
