Alex Rodriguez may not be able to see a 95 mph fastball down the middle anymore, but he still knows how to spot a hot number in the stands.
During the ninth inning of Game 2 of ALCS on Sunday, A-Rod was reportedly seen openly flirting with a couple of pretty ladies behind the New York Yankees dugout while the team was in the middle of a frantic comeback during a crucial game against the Detroit Tigers.
In the midst of the rally, Rodriguez had a ballboy pass one of the women a ball with a note attached asking her for her phone number. The Yankees third baseman had already been pulled for a pinch hitter.
While the Yankees were putting four runs across home plate — but coming up short — A-Rod was scoring on his own with the phone digits. But it was the $29 million bench warmer who ended up getting the win after he found out the numbers came from an smoking Australian bikini model.
Kyna Treacy, a green-eyed, 33-year-old swimsuit model and swimwear designer, caught A-Rod's pitch and tossed it back to the Yankees slugger with the vital numbers, according to The New York Post.
Treacy and her pal Kate Quinn were sitting two rows behind the dugout at Yankee Stadium when A-Rod made his move. Both Aussie women currently live in New York City, according to The Post. The athletic — just how A-Rod likes 'em — Treacy paid her way through college by modeling.
Still, Rodruguez's ill-timed pitch for a love connection had Yankees fans seething.
One fan who witnessed the clueless ballplayer public pickup said he "wasn't amused" by his antics.
"I originally thought it was the ballboy who was trying to get the numbers, since the girls did look a little young — even for A-Rod," he said.
The ballboy. Riiiight.
Rodriguez, who was benched last night for Game 3, has not commented about the story.
Looks like that pep talk from Kobe Bryant did wonders for A-Rod's game off the field.
