Another Cubs Blog:
You’ve all seen the recent pictures of Sammy Sosa and have undoubtedly read something about some skin cream that he’s been using. I thought Sosa looked ill when I first saw the images and was just glad to hear that was not the issue. I couldn’t care less what Sammy Sosa puts on his skin, but I’m not like a lot of people. If you search Chicago Cubs on google news this is what you get. The 669 top articles on the Cubs are about Sosa. Yes, 669 of them in separate groups. I have no idea how google arranges their search engine, but I have a feeling it’s based on what users are clicking on when they search Chicago Cubs. So apparently google users are very interested in Sammy Sosa’s skin cream.
It’s not just google. I have a few feeds that are just Chicago Cubs news. One of them is google, and the other that groups articles together is Topix. Take a look. The top article is about Sammy’s skin color. Apparently he has to face questions about it for reasons I will never understand.
There are at least 9 articles linked on the front page of the Chicago Tribune’s Cubs section that are about Sosa’s ******* skin cream. 2 of the 4 articles linked on the Sun Times Cubs section that are visible on my monitor without scrolling down are about Sosa’s lighter complexion. To add to that, they have a photo gallery of Sammy through the years too. I suppose the good news is that there aren’t any articles on Sosa on The Daily Herald’s Cubs page. There also are not nearly as many articles linked on that page as the Tribune or Sun-Times.
What the **** is wrong with people?
