The Arizona Fall League opened yesterday and seven Reds prospects will be playing for the Peoria Saguaros who is managed by David Bell. The Reds propspects are pitchers Bradley Boxberger, Mike Leake, Logan Ondrusek, and Sean Watson, 1B Yonder Alonso, SS Zack Cozart, and OF Chris Heisey. The Saguaros lost their first game 8 – 4. All of the Reds prospects saw action except for Boxberger and Leake. Watson and Ondrusek each gave up 3 R in 1 IP. Chris Heisey started in CF and went 2 for 4 with a 3B. Alonso went 1 for 5. Zack Cozart went 0 for 4 and committed 2 E at SS. I was surprised to see Boxberger and Leake added to the roster after just being drafted. I always thought this league was for more advanced prospects. It will be interesting to see how they perform there. I hope to see Heisey and Alonso do very well there to help put themselves into the mix for some playing time with the Reds next season.
