The Los Angeles Dodgers have been dealing with the issue of a crowded outfield all season long, which only worsened when Carl Crawford came off the disabled list last week. That’s why Matt Kemp’s agent, former major league pitcher Dave Stewart, isn’t asking for his client to be traded, but isn’t opposed to the idea, either. Kemp just wants to play everyday, Stewart said, via FOXSports.com, which may not be possible given all the talent the Dodgers have in the outfield. “Whatever they want to do we’re favorable to, as long as it gives him an opportunity to play every day,” Stewart said. “He’d like to eventually go back to center field. He’s not opposed to right or left. But his hope at some point is to get back to center.” The Dodgers now have to try and find playing time for Kemp, Crawford, Yasiel Puig, Andre Ethier and Scot Van Slyke. Kemp, who is 29-years old, finished second in MVP voting back in 2011 behind Ryan Braun. The former two-time All-Star is hitting .269 with eight homers and 35 RBI’s this year in 86 games. He’s raised his batting average from .205 to .269 since May 2, and has started 40 of the Dodgers’ last 42 games in left field. The Boston Red Sox scouted the Dodgers toward the end of June, but much has changed since then. Jackie Bradley Jr. is hitting .375 in the month of July, and his superb defense continues to impress, lessening the need to acquire another center fielder.
