MILWAUKEE Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Shaun Marcum, who was set to face off against his former team Toronto in Tuesday night's game, will miss his scheduled start due to tightness in his elbow, according to a tweet from the Brewers. "Very disappointing," manager Ron Roenicke told reporters on Monday. "He has pitched great for quite a few starts now. He's pitched great, so it really is disappointing. "I'm hoping it's just a start. I know two years ago he missed a start, I think, in the middle of the season with Toronto, and hopefully that's what we're talking about." Like Roenicke referenced, Marcum had just started to pick it up in his past few starts, not taking a loss since May 22 and allowing just seven earned runs in four starts since then. For the season, Marcum is 5-3 with a 3.39 ERA. He was traded to Milwaukee from Toronto for third baseman prospect Brett Lawrie in December 2010. As for who will start in Marcums place, Roenicke wasnt sure whether the team would call up a starter or handle the game with a bullpen-by-committee approach. "We'll have somebody come in and either start tomorrow, or we'll do a bullpen session, Roenicke told reporters. We'll know which direction we're going to go after the game tonight. I don't know if we'll announce a personnel move, or who's going to pitch." So as it stands right now, with the Blue Jays also experiencing quite the injury bug in their rotation three starters were injured in the past week there are no set starters for Tuesdays game.
