Monday marked the start of postseason baseball and also marked the start of Alex Rodriguez appeal season too.
It's possible that this could carry on for more than a month. This is because it is technically A-Rod's first PED violation offense and the players association filed a grievance to force an appeal. So any suspension wouldn't begin until being decided on by an arbitrator.
Arbitrator Fredric Horowitz that is, who began to hear the grievance to overturn A-Rod's 211-game suspension on Monday.
It's believed that Horowitz could make his ruling about 25 days after the hearing wraps up. As arbitrator, he has the final word to reduce, overturn or uphold the 211 game suspension.
It's also likely that MLB would not want to disrupt the postseason, much less the World Series with the news of an A-Rod suspension decision. So Horowitz will probably announce his ruling around the first week of November.
