New York Yankees third basemen Alex Rodriguez is all but certain to be suspended by the MLB within the coming weeks regarding his affiliation with Biogenesis clinic. Arod could be facing more than the 50 games for first time offenders, according to Jon Heyman of CBSSports.
Rodriguez is only one of up to 15 or so players that will receive suspensions by MLB when they are announced.
Arod was suppose to be back in the majors on Monday, but instead an MRI revealed a level 1 left quad strain which has left him benched for the next five days before attempting another rehab assignment. A person connected to the star player said, “I don’t think he’s going to beat the suspension back to the field.”
Rodriguez declined to answer the questions of MLB investigators when they interviewed him, sources told CBSSports.com, as did perhaps most of the other players linked to the PED case.
