The sweet swing of Alex Rodriguez helps the Yankees spoil the party in Boston as the Yankees beat the Red Sox 6-2 on the day the Boston Red Sox would celebrate the one hundred year Birthday of the field known as Fenway Park. Rodriguez would pass his former teammate Ken Griffey Jr. to take over the fifth spot on the career home run list with his 631st home run. The Yankees would score their first run in the first inning as, you guess it Rodriguez would single to center field scoring Derek Jeter making it 1-0 Yankees.

The men in pin stripes weren’t done their, they would pick up two more runs in the second inning when Nick Swisher and Eric Chavez both hit home runs making it 3-0 Yankees on the day the Red Sox were trying to have a celebration. The Red Sox would score a run of their own in the second with a blast of 424 feet from their designated hitter David Ortiz making it 3-1 Yankees. The Red Sox would watch their party fizzle as the Yankees scored runs in the fourth and fifth and sixth inning’s making it 6-2 in favor of the New York Yankees.

The Yankees would hold the Boston Red Sox scoreless for the remainder of the game and go on to get the teams 8th win of the season and spoiling the party at Fenway Park.
