Sometimes, sports are tough. A perfect example would be Wednesday’s gut-wrenching 4-0 loss by the Cleveland Indians at home in a one-game do-or-die playoff game. As we wind down the team’s incredible run to a 92-70 record, I felt it was appropriate to recap some of the team’s best tweets over the past few days since that loss. Hope you enjoy and that this makes you even more pumped for 2014. Thank you fans!! You guys were awesome tonight! — Mickey Callaway (@mickey_callaway) October 3, 2013 The Tribe’s pitching coach got it all started shortly after the game ended with this quick post. Theres no denying that we have something special brewing in this city. No more rebuilding. Time to start reloading. Thanks Cleveland — Vinnie Pestano (@VinnieP52) October 3, 2013 Fan favorite Vinnie Pestano followed shortly thereafter with this tweet, which I know I couldn’t hold back from favoriting to save for months. Incredible energy last night #TribeTown -I'm bummed that it's over Heck, even Slider couldn’t hold back from thanking the fans and remarking on how much fun Wednesday was. It was great. Thanks to our fans, everyone in the Indians org, & my teammates for making this year such a fun ride…can't wait to do it again in 2014 — Corey Kluber (@CKluber) October 3, 2013 Starter Corey Kluber posted the tweet above on Thursday afternoon. This is just around the time many more members of the organization were added to the Twitter tears. Tough to get past the bitter feeling of the abrupt end to our season. Lots to be proud of but also a lot of unfinished business. 1/2 — Mark Shapiro (@MarkShapiro) October 3, 2013 Trust that we are back at work today committed to playing in October again. Most of all, THANKS to our fans for your passion + support — Mark Shapiro (@MarkShapiro) October 3, 2013 The team’s president send out this two-part tweet shortly thereafter. As Craig has written, the team’s management really does deserve a ton of credit for reviving the fan base with the success this season. Thank you to the @Indians & all our fans. It's been a great year. Can't wait to come back stronger next season! #TribeTown #RollTribe — Nick Swisher (@NickSwisher) October 3, 2013 Gotta love Swish, right? Thank you Cleveland for all your support. Excited for the future, looking forward to 2014. Proud to be an @indians & a part of this org. — Yan Gomes (@Yan_AGomes) October 3, 2013 One of the best stories in 2013: How Yan Gomes went from a trade throw-in to a 4-WAR player. Unbelievable. About to depart to miami, thank you for all your support guys, next year will be great again, I did the best I can, love you, bye bye!! — Danny Salazar (@DannySalazar67) October 4, 2013 For sure I'm going to miss Cleveland, but I know I'll be back! — Danny Salazar (@DannySalazar67) October 4, 2013 With Salazar on his way back home, he took the time early Friday morning to post the tweets above. Haven't tweeted about the game yet but just wanted to thank Cleveland for that experience Wednesday night.. Biggest and best crowd that.. — Jason Kipnis (@TheJK_Kid) October 5, 2013 .. I've played in front of..Wish it could've went differently but i have a feeling we'll have some more chances to try again here soon! — Jason Kipnis (@TheJK_Kid) October 5, 2013 These tweets from Kipnis are the ones that will get you super pumped for more playoff baseball in the future. Back in #DominicanRepublic for the offseason, thank you @Indians and the fans in Cleveland for the experience in September #grateful — Jose Ramirez (@MrLapara) October 5, 2013 And finally, Jose Ramirez sent out that tweet later last night, and it will be interesting to see how the team utilizes his intriguing skill set in 2014.
