National League manager Bruce Bochy and American League manager Jim Leyland have announced their starting pitchers and lineups for Tuesday night's All-Star Game, and the results aren't exactly shocking. National League Brandon Phillips, 2B Carlos Beltran, RF Joey Votto, 1B David Wright, 3B Carlos Gonzalez, LF Yadier Molina, C Troy Tulowitzki, SS Michael Cuddyer, DH Bryce Harper, CF Matt Harvey, SP American League Mike Trout, LF Robinson Cano, 2B Miguel Cabrera, 3B Chris Davis, 1B Jose Bautista, RF David Ortiz, DH Adam Jones, CF Joe Mauer, C JJ Hardy, SS Max Scherzer, SP The three manager decisions involved with the lineups, aside from the order, of course, were the NL's DH spot and the two starting pitchers. Cuddyer was chosen as the NL's DH so he likely wouldn't have to play the field at all (because Cuddyer is really not a great defensive outfielder by any stretch of the imagination). Hey, it makes sense on some level, I guess. As for the starting pitchers, everyone seemed to be clamoring for Harvey to get the start for the NL in his home park (including Dwight Gooden), and Bochy obliged. As for the American League, it was really a choice between Scherzer and Felix Hernandez of the Mariners, but do you really think Leyland would go against his own guy? C'mon man. You can't quibble about either choice to start the game, all things considered. [follow]
