St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Allen Craig extended his hitting streak to eleven games with a single on Wednesday night. - (Photo credit: Wikipedia) St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Allen Craig may only be in his second full season at the Major League level, but he does have quite the reputation. Everyone knows that the dude can flat out mash at the plate when healthy. Craig has been health of late and coincidentally, to nobody's surprise is producing at the plate. With his single and one for four performance on Wednesday night, Craig extended hit current hitting streak to eleven games. During the streak, Craig is 17 for 43, good for a .395 average and has hit one home run, knocked in three RBI's, and has laced five doubles. Craig continues to be one of the Cardinals most consistent hitters at the plate and has made himself a staple at first base. Now if only the Cardinals could figure out a way to keep Craig consistently healthy. More from StlSportsMinute...

Former Astros slugger Lance Berkman has been on record with his displeasure with Houston's move to the American League next season. Luck the only explanation for Cards' record

Fresh off their second World Series championship in the last six seasons, the St. Louis Cardinals have done just about everything a fan could ask of them this year, and statistically speaking, there's no reason they shouldn't be a contender for the crown once again. Through 121 games in the first season of the post-Tony La Russa era, the Cardinals' pitching has been...

Cardinals give Jake Westbrook a contract extension

Jake Westbrook Extended

The St. Louis Cardinals and Jake Westbrook have agreed to an extension. The new contract is reportedly a one-year, $8.75 million contract for 2013 with a superfluous mutual option worth $9.5 million for 2014 with a $1 million buyout. While the mutual option seems increasingly prevalent, given that it is usually irrelevant in practice, it might be more straightforward to think of...

Kendrick’s Continued Improvement
