Apologize for not being around this afternoon, but I had a late flight in from Minneapolis, so have been indisposed. Tried to answer a few of your concerns via Blackberry, but it's a little easier once you turn on a laptop.
Anyhow, I've been alerted to the fact that U.S.S. Mariner guru Dave Cameron took issue with what was written here today, saying the M's "hacking" approach (his words) was leading to fewer runs and not more. Well, that may wind up being the case. But up to now, the numbers don't support his contention.
As we mentioned earlier, the Mariners began winning again a month ago in Detroit and have continued in 26 games since. They are 16-10 since that series, having gone 9-14 prior to it. That Detroit series is when they began showing signs of consistent offensive life, began hitting home runs and doubles more frequently and generally scoring more each game.
I'll break it down for you.
