The New York Mets have been in the running all off season for some big name pitchers. Derek Lowe, Olie P, maybe Ben Sheets. Big Names that you can throw into the rotation and not worry about it. So the Mets go out and sign... Tim Redding? What the Hell? Ok, Tim Redding is a native New York Stater, so he wants to pitch in the Big Apple and for the Mets, but seriously? It's Tim Redding a very mediocre pitcher who really only got back in the big leagues because the Nationals have been so damn terrible the past two seasons. In 2005 and 2006 he only threw a total of 30 innings which included one start for the Bronx bombers in which he gave up 6 runs in an inning plus. To his credit he's pitched semi-decently the past two seasons for the Nationals with a solid 3.64 ERA in 15 starts in 2007 and a eh ERA of 4.94 in 33 starts in 2008. It's just if you're a Met fan and you've been flirting with difference makers and you sign Tim Redding while watching the division ...
