Marlon Anderson played in his first rehab game in Port St. Lucie. Anderson hit in the lead-off spot and played left field. He went 0-3 with a walk, at the beginning of the month he was placed on the DL with a strained hamstring. Anderson had been a clutch left handed pinch hitter last year but this season he has been completely ineffective hitting only .222. He is signed through next year so he'll probably provide veteran leadership on the bench and try again next year.Trot Nixon is playing left field daily and hitting .301 in New Orleans, tonight he hit a two run homer giving him his 13 HR and 40 RBI in AAA this season. The veteran left handed out fielder is expected back on Sept. 1st. Not only can he help in the outfield but he has vital playoff experience to bring to the clubhouse.
