I will be honest: Like many, I gave up drinking tequila in
college. That was 20+ years ago, before the whole mixology movement had begun,
and the tequila I got wasn't always the highest of qualities.
But that will be changing.
Last week, AngelsWin.com was invited to attend an event
hosted by Familia Camarena Tequila. Held in the Diamond Club restaurant,
Familia Camarena brought in local mixologist Joel Black (Black Lab Ventures) to
teach us how to create unique and premium drinks using their tequila.
All I can say is WOW!
In teaching the crowd about his drinks, Joel explained the
differences between a quality tequila such as Familia Camarena’s Silver or
Reposado Tequila and a commercial grade product. I could go on and on about the
growth of the plants, the cooking process, etc. but all fans need to know is
that the difference is using 100% agave tequila for a premium cocktail and a
mixto tequila, whic...

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim outfielder Josh Hamilton finally has hit his first big fly with his new team. After signing a five year, $125 million contract this winter, Hamilton got off to a slow start with the Angels, earning scorn from Anaheim's fans as they scuffled to a 2-8 start. But on Saturday night, Hamilton finally got on the board, homering to right center field in...
How long until the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim faithful fan base start calling for the firing of manager Mike Scioscia? Admittedly, it’s far too early into the current season to be asking this question reasonably. The problem is that for the last three seasons there have been whispers that have grown into an uproar over whether Scioscia should get a pass for winning the 2002...
Anytime we can get quotes from anonymous scouts on the blog, we make sure to do it.
Today, they’re talking about the lower-half of Albert Pujols. As much as I love to read random quotes from a scout about any player, you take it with a grain of salt because:
a. Scouts refuse to attach their name to the quote, always
b. A lot of times, scouts don’t know ****. They’ve always...
ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) -- Mike Trout hit his first home run of the season and Josh Hamilton also connected, leading C.J. Wilson and the Los Angeles Angels over the Houston Astros 4-1 Sunday.
Trout put the Angels ahead for good with his solo homer in the third inning. He also doubled and scored three times.
Hamilton tripled and singled before hitting his second homer of the year,...
Josh Hamilton homering and Albert Pujols hitting a game-ending double. Just what the Los Angeles Angels needed to end a five-game losing streak.
Hamilton hit his first home run for the Angels and Pujols hit a two-run double off Jose Veras with two outs in the ninth inning, helping Los Angeles beat the Houston Astros 5-4 on Saturday night.
''It's good to get the first...
The last few days there has been increasing chatter about how the loss of Torii Hunter has turned the Angels into mindless zombies who show little or no emotion on the field. I bemoaned the lack of interest just yesterday, although I think the Hunter thing is a bit overblown. In reality, the Angels just needed some kind of spark. Tonight, Albert Pujols reminded us that this is his...
If Arte Moreno is upset with the Angels' play, he has to realize
his part in it as the owner.
The Angels are off to a rocky start yet again, sitting it 4-8 as they enter play Monday. Last season they also had a dismal start, going 8-15 in April and beginning May 9 games out of first place. The Angels played better the rest of the way but it was too little too late, … Continue reading »
The April 16th, 2013 edition of daily news for the Los Angeles Angels including Angels potential suitors for Headley, Arte Moreno paying for his own moves and much more...
The Story: The Angels could be a suitor for Chase Headley if/when he becomes available via trade.
The Monkey Says: I seriously doubt it, but I understand why people will bring it up. Frankly, the Angels...
Ben and Sam discuss how big a signing bonus Mark Appel will get in the amateur draft, then assess Mike Scioscia`s job security.
Despite Tony La Russa insisting he would never manage again after retiring from the St. Louis Cardinals following the 2011 season, rumors persist about his potential return to the dugout.
The last-place Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim would be the California resident’s destination – if the high-priced roster continues to lose games, says Charley Walters of the St. Paul Pioneer...
Just when the Angels looked like they were ready to finally get hot, they arrived in the frigid temperatures of Minnesota and cooled right back down.
This game had all the tell-tale signs of the struggles that plagued the team so far this season. Joe Blanton laid another egg against a weak lineup. The bats got unlikely output in the form of homers from Peter Bourjos and Brendan...
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Joe Mauer had a home run among his four hits and drove in three runs for the Minnesota Twins in an 8-2 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on a cold, windy Monday night that helped send several fly balls to the deepest parts of Target Field.
Kevin Correia (1-1) earned his first American League win after finishing seven innings for the third time in as many starts...
