It had the makings of an oasis win in the desert of a desolate, hopeless 2013 season for the Angels. Jerome Williams, he of the 12.50 July ERA, twirled a strong 7 2/3 innings of one-run baseball against the Rangers. Josh Hamilton, former Ranger, launched his first home run in Arlington as a member of the opposing team.   But, if there ever was a sense of inevitability that something disastrous was afoot, it was present at the Ballpark in Arlington on Wednesday night. Heading into the bottom of the ninth, the Angels were deadlocked at 1-1 with the Rangers. It was almost too perfectly awful, but nearly everyone knew what was coming next.   And it happened. Adrian Beltre crushed a walk-off home run to send the Angels out of Texas in pure and utter shame. To put this in context, the last time a team was swept in a three-game series on back-to-back-back walk-off home run losses, it was 1999. The team? The now defunct Montreal Expos.   Wowzers.   Rangers 2, Angels 1   ------   Game Notes   -- If you're looking for any silver lining, I suppose Jerome Williams finally exorcised his personal Texas demons on Wednesday night. Coming into the matchup, the right-hander sported an abysmal 6.68 ERA against the Rangers. He stepped it up in a big way tonight.   -- Mike Trout's on-base streak ended at 10 plate appearances with a first inning flyout. It was fun while it lasted.   -----   Halos A-Hole of the Game     Michael Kohn, sorry kid. But we've got to pick someone. And you're the latest.
