TEAMS: Los Angeles Angels, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Arizona State Sun Devils

I can only imagine what it’s like being a big time professional athlete and then turning around to see your own child blaze his path in a sport. The Hunter family of major league glory has entered that fray, except this Hunter is not playing baseball.
USA Today is reporting that Torii Hunter Jr., son of Los Angeles Angels star Torii Hunter has committed to play football at Notre Dame. Jr. is a 6-foot 172 pound senior from Prosper, Texas.
Reports state that Hunter committed after watching the Irish defeat Michigan 13-6 this past Saturday. Hunter Jr. was in attendance for that game. Hunter was also being recruited by Arizona State, Utah and Nebraska.
Sr. sent out a congratulatory tweet Sunday as a proud father.
Congrats to my son @thunterjr for his commitment to Notre Dame to play football and baseball. #proudpapa
