After the Mets released Duaner Sanchez, it was assumed by many that he would be replaced by one of the many candidates in camp. However, Marty Noble of mets.com gave an interesting answer in his mailbag today that leads me to believe Omar is not done shopping. Minaya indicated Tuesday the club may look at available left-handed relievers now that the release of Sanchez has created a need. My sense of it was that the Mets needed one even before they ended their relationship with Sanchez. And Reyes now is with the Cardinals. With both Joe Beimel and Will Ohman still available, can the timing now be right for Omar Minaya to make a play for one of them? Ohman, 31, was 4-1 with a 3.68 ERA in 58 innings with the Braves last season after spending his first five seasons with the Cubs. He owns a 4.16 career ERA.
