Are you a Phillies fan? Then answer this question honestly. I dare you.
I am posing a question to all Phillies fans! I request that everyone please try to answer this question honestly.
I have no doubt Ibanez is a classy and high character guy who will probably fill in admirably to replace Pat Burrell. This offseason we have replaced Pat with Raul and resigned a 46 year old pitcher to a two year contract. We have also signed a long relief pitcher in CHP to replace Rudy Seanez. We also traded for a back up catcher. Everything I read is that this is it. No more major signings or trades coming any time soon. Have we really improved our team? We have only replaced a key componet to our WS last year in Burrell and resigned an aging pitcher that we hope can come close to last years stats. One can not argue that the Mets have closed the gap on the phils by filling their bullpen needs and they are still heavily in the market for another starter and outfielder. They have most definitely improved their club. So again..I ask Phillies fans to answer honestly- Have the Phillies improved their squad at all? Are we really better? Are we really good enough to defend our title? I look forward to all your responses.
