The Arizona Diamondbacks have activated outfielder Adam Eaton from the 15-day disabled list after having suffered a sprained elbow four months ago in spring training. While Eaton is one of several options for the Diamondbacks, he does offer the rare skill-set which should give him an advantage for increased playing time as soon as his body is accustomed to playing on a more regular basis.
To make room for Eaton, the Diamondbacks have chosen to option right-handed pitcher Charles Brewer to their Triple-A Reno minor league affiliate. While Brewer posted a nice earned run average over six appearances this season, his WHIP which is at 1.67 is atrocious. Considering the lack of quality arms at the major league level, don’t be surprised to see him get another opportunity later this summer.
