?The on-then-off deal between the Atlanta Braves and Rafael Furcal through the Wasserman Media Grouphas created a rift between the club and agency as Braves president JohnSchuerholz calls the dealings " disgusting and unprofessiona" while Arn Tellem issues a statement saying Wassermanis within their right. Yesterday, John Schuerholz, the former GM and current president of the Atlanta Braves, ripped publicly into the Wasserman Media Group, after Rafael Furcal decided to stay on with the Dodgers, after it is believed that the Braves had a verbal agreement with Furcal, and his agent, Paul Kinzer, who is part of the Wasserman Media Group. ?Having been in this business for 40-some years, I?ve never seen anybody treated like that,? Schuerholz said. ?The Atlanta Braves will no longer do business with that company ? ever. I told [agent] Arn Tellem that we can?t trust them to be honest and forthright.   • To Tellum's point that the Braves must entertain deals from his clients, doesn't he have the roles reversed? I don't believe I've ever heard of a free agent in baseball or any other sport presenting a deal to a team. I don't think the Braves, or any other team have to deal with any player or agent if they choose not to. Tellum's firm is clearly out of bounds here. They made a verbal deal with the Braves, asked for a terms sheet to be sent, and then shopped it to the Dodgers. The Braves should stick to their guns on this and never, ever deal with this s*** again.
