The Houston Astros entered the offseason looking to improve in virtually every area following a dismal 51-111 record last season.  Among the signings that figured to bolster their bullpen was the signing of Jesse Crain to a one-year contract.  Crain was an All-Star in 2013, posting a miniscule 0.74 ERA in 38 games with the White Sox.  He struck out 46 and walked only 11 in 36 2/3 innings. But he didn't pitch after being traded to the Tampa Bay Rays on July 29 because of injury.  Crain, who expected to miss the start of the season while recuperating from surgery to his biceps tendon performed in October, is now awaiting the results of an MRI following a calf strain.Keith Allison via Wikimedia CommonsAs reported by Brian McTaggart of MLB.com, Crain suffered a right calf strain in the weight room on Tuesday.  The injury occurred when Crain stepped on a box during a workout and felt something abnormal in his calf. "It felt like I got hit by a ball.
