Report: Cardinals agree to terms with SS Furcal

The St. Louis Cardinals reached agreement with shortstop Rafael Furcal on a two-year deal worth approximately $14 million, ESPN reported on Sunday. Furcal, 34, was acquired from the Los Angeles Dodgers during the season and batted .195 with a homer and three RBIs in the playoffs. A former Rookie of the Year, Furcal batted .255 in 50 games with the Cardinals this past season.

No quick fix for Cards to replace Pujols

The Cardinals aren't going to "replace" Albert Pujols. There have been very few players in history as good as Pujols, and unless the Cardinals sign Prince Fielder -- and that's not likely to happen -- they're not going to come close to finding another Albert.
