According to his agent, Burton Rocks, (via Jon Heyman of Sports Illustrated), the Houston Astros have signed catcher Robinson Cancel to a Minor League deal.

Cancel last played in the Majors with the New York Mets during the 2008 and 2009 season.  In 43 career games with the Mets and the Milwaukee Brewers, Cancel has hit .213/.200/.287 with 1 home run and 10 RBIs.
