Tommy Milone pitched six shut out innings as the Oakland Athletics continued to hand the Cleveland Indians another loss. The Athletics pitchers gave up 8 hits but the Indians couldn’t score any runs. The Athletics handed the Indians their second shut out in a row. The A’s got on the board scoring 2 runs in the second inning then they scored 2 more in the third. The team was able to gang up on Zach McAllister the Indians starter for 9 hits and 5 earned runs in the 4-1/3 innings he pitched. Chris Carter had a good night at the plate, he went 3 for 5 with 3 R.B.I.’s, Carter hit a home run in the 5th and a double in the 9th. The Athletics take on the Indians 2 more times this week, the Indians probably should just send up the white flag. Oakland remains 5-1/2 games behind the Texas Rangers in the  A. L. West, the team has 71 wins and losses on the season.

Determining the market value for Choo

Last night while trying to avoid the actual topic of the Indians losing to the A’s 1 I decided it would be interesting to start discussing what kind of price Shin-Soo Choo could demand on the open market. We all like Choo (I think.) He is a player who should be part of any team’s solution as opposed to an issue. Still, he’s not to the level of a big-time premier free agent...

Response Runs Do Tribe Starters In Again

Just like our beloved Indians, we’re scraping the bottom of the roster here at WFNY. Instead of the incomparably talented TD or Jon, I will be bringing you a recap of last night’s game. I do hope you enjoy. For all you moviegoers who’ve seen “The Dark Knight Rises”, you might recall the line, “There cannot be true despair without hope.” I’ve tried to maintain some...

A’s 3 Indians 0: Small Attendance, Smaller Offense

If you were one of the alleged 13,018 in attendance last night, I salute you. You are a real diehard. The rumor is the Indians season ticket base is about 8,500 or so. When STO made the not so wise decision to show overhead or long view shots of Progressive Field, it looked as though there were 3,500, maybe 4,000 tops in the stands. The Dolan family, Mark Shapiro, Chris Antonetti...

Crisp sits out due to bruised foot

Coco Crisp, a key component of the Oakland Athletics' playoff-contending lineup, missed Tuesday night's game at Cleveland due to a bruised right foot. Manager Bob Melvin said that X-rays were negative and that Crisp is day-to-day. Crisp fouled the first pitch of his third-inning at-bat off his foot Monday night. Crisp is batting .304 in 54 starts since moving into the...

Photo: Boy, Indians fans really packed the ballpark today (spoiler: they did not)

Goodness gracious, Cleveland Indians fans. That’s Major League-level apathy right there. The photo, courtesy of a tweet from MLB.com’s Zack Meisel at 12:02 p.m. for a 12:05 game at Progressive Field for a matinee against the Oakland Athletics (Meisel tweets that he counted 1,555 fans in the crowd), pretty much provides photographic evidence that the entire [...]
