Jones has hit two game-winning home runs against the Phillies this season, the first one coming in a 15-13 win on May 2. It was just the Braves fifth victory in their past 15 games and they have a three-game lead over the Cardinals and a 3 12-game lead over both the Dodgers and the Pirates in the NL wild card race. Peter Moylan, who joined the Braves on Saturday, earned the victory, his first MLB win since Sept. 10, 2010. Hes been working his way back from surgery for a torn right labrum and rotator cuff that forced him to miss all of 2011. Rookie SS Andrelton Simmons will start a rehab assignment with Double-A Mississippi on Monday. He will play in playoff games with Rome on Wednesday and with Lynchburg on Thursday. Whos hot Freddie Freeman was the Braves top hitter during an offensively challenged week. He hit .333 (6-for-18) with six walks, two home runs and three RBIs. Martin Prado hit .275 with two home runs and six RBIs, including two on a two-run double during the ninth-inning comeback against the Phillies on Sunday. He also stole two more bases, increasing his career-high single-season total to 17. Hes been caught only twice. Reed Johnson had three hits and three RBIs on Sunday and is hitting .355 (22-for-62) since the All-Star break. Juan Francisco is the only other Brave hitting higher than .300 since the break. Dan Uggla hit .263 with two homers and two RBIs last week. Kris Medlen is 5-0 with a 0.66 ERA and 38 strikeouts in 40 23 innings since moving into the rotation. He starts on Monday. Whos not Even though Jones clutch home run won Sundays game, the Braves were just 5-for-26 with runners in scoring position in the series. They had scored 10 runs in five games before scoring five in the ninth to beat the Phillies 8-7 on Sunday. Brian McCann, who is battling shoulder problems, has hit .178 with two RBIs in his past 20 games. Hes never had fewer than 71 RBIs in a season (2011), but has only 58 this year. Tim Hudsons seven-game winning streak ended Saturday when he gave up five runs in five innings. Paul Maholm has lost three straight decisions, giving up 13 runs in his past 15 23 innings. Hes given up six home runs in his six starts with the Braves after allowing only one in his previous seven starts before he was traded from the Cubs. Injuries Atlanta: P Brandon Beach (Tommy John surgery) will be out until next summer; SS Andrelton Simmons (finger), OF Matt Diaz (thumb) and P Ben Sheets (shoulder) are on the 15-day DL. Colorado: 1B Todd Helton (hip) is out for the season; OF Eric Young Jr. (ribs) and OF Michael Cuddyer (oblique) are on the 15-day DL, SS Troy Tulowitzki (groin) is on the 15-day DL, but could join the Rockies this week. New York: P Johan Santana (back), P Tim Byrdak (shoulder) and P Dillon Gee (shoulder) are on the DL. On the farm Jair Jurrjens held Norfolk to three hits and on run in five innings on Sunday and snap Gwinnetts eight-game losing streak. Jurrjens is 4-6 for Gwinnett, which ends its season on Monday. Gwinnett 1B Ernesto Mejia is the International Leagues Rookie of the Year, the third straight year a G-Brave has won the award. He follows Freddie Freeman (2010) and Julio Teheran (2011). Mejia is hitting .298 with 24 homers and 98 RBIs, but isnt on the Braves 40-man roster. Joe Terdoslavich has flourished at Mississippi, hitting .314 with five home runs and 49 RBIs in 76 games after being demoted from Gwinnett. Mississippi OF Todd Cunningham and P Sean Gilmartin were selected to the Southern Leagues postseason All-Star team. Lynchburg SS Nick Ahmed has 40 steals.
