As the 2009 season is getting closer to its end, it's safe to say that the Baltimore Orioles went through a transition period this season. Many of the top prospects within the organization have gotten called up to the major league club.
Some took awhile to make their leaps and bounds. Others found success at the major league level very quickly.
But there hasn't been a call up since the young Brian Matusz came in late-July. This leads me to believe that Director of Baseball Operations/GM Andy MacPhail must have some move up his sleeve, as it has been too quiet in Birdland.
MacPhail's recent acquisition could lead to another top prospect getting the call up.
The Baltimore Orioles dealt first baseman Aubrey Huff to the Detroit Tigers for prospect Brett Jacobson.
It was a tough decision to make, especially since Huff was a veteran leader within the clubhouse, helping young players such as Adam Jones and Matt Wieters to be themselves.
