Austin Jackson is started to hit. After a big year last year for the Detroit Tigers, Jackson got off to a real slow start. I haven’t watched enough of Jackson this year to say why- but the telecast during last night’s game blamed it on a non-aggressive approach. That’s interesting to me because I was able to train with Jackson for 6 weeks, and he was anything but non-aggressive. I’ll tell you what- watching him run on turf was fun because the kid can flat out FLY. After that slow start, Jackson has turned it on as of late and it couldn’t come at a better time. With guys like Miguel Cabrera and Victor Martinez hitting behind him, it’s up to Jackson to set the table and he’s doing just that. I’ve always liked Jackson as a player because of his ability to do multiple things on the field. He can run, hit for some power, and hit for some average.
