Bowie 13, Binghamton 1
The Bowie Baysox blasted five home runs and thumped the Binghamton Mets, 13-1, on Thursday night at Prince George’s Stadium. The Baysox pounded out 16 hits, including a dozen off starter Erik Goeddel, and handed the B-Mets their most lopsided loss of the season.
The onslaught against Goeddel started immediately. After a leadoff single by Travis Adair, Buck Britton launched a two-run homer to right. Caleb Joseph made it back-to-back shots with a solo blast to left-center. Following two singles, Brandon Waring golfed a 1-0 offering over the left-field wall, giving the Baysox a 6-0 lead.
Bowie continued the offensive pressure in the second. Josh Horton zipped a double off the right-field wall to start the frame, took second on a single and came home with Bowie’s seventh run of the game on a sac fly by Seth Loman.
