Found June 27, 2008 on Another Cubs Blog:
After losing a game last night to the Orioles you just kind of knew this team would win tonight. That's been one of the more enjoyable aspects to this season so far. This team doesn't lose many and they don't lose them in bunches. The offense picked up 4 in the 1st inning and added a couple more in the 2nd inning. Lilly allowed a couple of 2-run home runs to Jay Payton and that was the runs the Orioles got. Lilly went 7 innings and Marmol returned to his dominating form in the 8th while Kerry Wood struck out the side in the 9th in order for his 20th save. Wood and Marmol struck out 5. If the Cubs get a lead entering the 8th inning, you don't have much chance against those 2 guys. The Cubs, as they've done all season, took a lot of walks tonight. 10 of them to be precise and Fukudome wasn't even in the lineup. The Cubs go for the series win tomorrow afternoon with Jason Marquis going for the Cubs and some guy with a 6.27 ERA going for the O's. Marquis has been pretty good lately.
