Johnny Damon has been waiting for the phone to ring all offseason after playing last season with the Tampa Bay Rays. He has been linked to numerous teams as we draw closer to Spring Training, yet Damon remains unsigned less than 6 weeks prior to the start of the 2012 MLB Season. In 150 games for Tampa last season, Damon hit .261 with 16 home runs and 73 RBI. He also scored 79 runs and stole 19 bases, which was quite productive considering his age and lower salary. Also considering that Damon has played in at least 141 games in every season since 1995, it is extremely puzzling why Damon is still looking for a home this season. Just 277 hits away from 3,000 for his career, Damon still offers a lot to a team in search of a part time outfielder and designated hitter who can bring some veteran leadership to a team. He has been a part of World Series championship teams and playoff teams throughout the majority of the past 10 years of his career, and has put up numbers that make him worthy...

Johnny Damon Can Take His Whining and Lying to Another Town

Johnny Damon has been pining for the phone call, a call that hasn’t yet been made. The fact that no team, not the Rays who Damon played for last season, or the Yankees, the team which Damon WANTS to play for in 2012. This whining was put forth through Jon Heyman’s recent piece on CBSSports.com.   This piece came two weeks after another “Damon is best for the Yankees&...

The forecast for their 2012 season is bleak, and there's no clarity to their plans for the starting rotation. It's going to be a wide-open competition, especially after the Orioles traded Jeremy...

It's All About The Pitching...

Spring Training opens up in Sarasota on Saturday, and I would not say that I’m terribly excited at the team’s prospects right now. As it is every year, to win, you have to have pitching. I am not sure the Orioles have an abundance of it right now. In fact, I don’t know what to think. One question I have on my mind is this: who in the world starts on Opening Day? There are...
