Jarrod Parker earned his sixth win of the year, pitching seven solid innings of three-hit, two-run ball as the Oakland A’s hit around Yu Darvish en route to a 6-2 victory over the Texas Rangers on Tuesday night.
The A’s offense got going in the second, as Brandon Moss took advantage of the short porch in right field by lacing an inside fastball from Darvish into the seats for his 13th home run of the season (and his second against Darvish in ten career at-bats).
With two outs, Josh Reddick flipped a single in to right, stole second base, and scored on a single up the middle from Eric Sogard, giving the A’s a 2-0 lead.
Parker sailed through a shutdown inning in the bottom, and in the top of the third John Jaso smacked his second home run of the season, a solo shot, to right field, increasing the lead to 3-0.
The second shutdown inning was elusive, as a single from Jurickson Profar and a walk to Ian Kinsler led to a two-run single by A.J. Pierzynski, shrinking the A’s lead to 3-2. A ...
