Though it was in condensed form Felix was his normal self and the Mariners beat the Angels on a rare righty home run from Justin Smoak. No one's quite sure why the Mariners haven't shut Felix Hernandez down. The sense though was that it was about pride as Felix would like to finish stronger than he'd looked recently and the 200 innings pitched plateau was an important milestone to him. While Felix came up just short of reaching the latter goal it certainly seemed like he accomplished the former. Felix Hernandez became the first pitcher in the history of baseball to strike out 10 batters in a start that lasted four innings or less. It's a very specific stat and it's not an unusual feat due to the skill required just that if you strike out ten guys you normally go longer than four innings. But still Felix was Felixing. Not you know the meme-ified version of Felixin—just being his normal self. And that's the thing Felix was such his normal self that no one re...

My oh My! Top play of the week for the Seattle Mariners

Smoak Bomb There can be a lot said about Justin Smoak, and most of it ever since his arrival in Seattle has been negative. There has been lots of talk about him abandoning his switch hitter status, especially since his power numbers from the right side have been downright laughable. Well that all ends now! Well it at least quells the argument until next year at least. The Mariners...

Raul Ibanez hits No. 300, ties Ted Williams for HRs by 41-year-old

Mariners DH/outfielder Raul Ibanez has had a pretty nifty season in 2013 and never was that more evident than on Saturday night against the Angels ... Like M's broadcaster Dave Sims said that's the 300th home run of Ibanez's career and that's also his 29th blast of 2013. That's significant because it ties the 1960 record of Ted Williams for most home runs in...

After a 23-minute delay, the teams returned to the field, but in the fourth inning the game was briefly delayed...

Ibanez hits 300th HR, but Mariners lose to Angels

Raul Ibanez reached a personal milestone that gave him a place in history with Ted Williams. Ibanez hit his 300th career home run in the ninth inning against Los Angeles Angels closer Ernesto Frieri on Saturday night, but it went for naught in the Seattle Mariners' 6-5 loss. It was the 29th homer this year for the 17-year veteran, tying ''The Splendid Splinter'...

Swarm of bees delays Mariners/Angels game

This is the second time that an infestation of bees has plagued the...

On Fan Appreciation Day at in Anaheim, it was a fan who became appreciated more than he knew.  Angels fan Joe Potom,...

Your browser does not support iframes. An infestation of bees was to blame for a delay during the third inning of the Seattle Mariners and Los Angeles Angels game on Sunday.
