According to CSN’s Jim Salisbury and MLB's Todd Zolecki, the Phillies have traded outfielder Ben Francisco to the Toronto Blue Jays. In return, the Blue Jays will send over minor-league relief pitcher Frank Gailey.

In two and half seasons with the Phillies, Francisco hit for a .259 batting average, with 17 home runs and 75 runs batted in three seasons. Francisco came over to Philadelphia along with Cliff Lee from the Cleveland Indians in July of 2009 for Lou Marson, Jason Donald, Carlos Carrasco, and Jason Knapp.
Gailey, who is 26 years-old, is a native of Philadelphia. Being the Blue Jays' 23rd draft pick in the 2007 MLB June Amateur Draft, he has spent his whole career in the Jays’ minor league system. Gailey has never been above AA-level baseball. In five seasons, Gailey has attained a 23-15 record and held a 2.45 ERA.

The Ben Francisco Era Begins

The Jays have announced that they acquired Ben Francisco from the Phillies for minor league LOOGY Frank Gailey.  This trade has quite a few questions surrounding it. Why acquire him?  Yes the Jays have two left handed hitters vying for the left field slot, but Francisco has negative splits.  In 2011 he had a tOPS+ of 109 vs a right handed pitcher and 88 against a left handed pitcher...

Farewell Benny Fran

Ben Francisco has been traded to the North Pole. Okay, not really, just Toronto. The Blue Jays sent a 26 year old left-handed reliever to the Phillies in exchange. Francisco batted .259/.732 in 3 seasons in Philly. If you recall, he was the "throw-in" on the Cliff Lee/Indians trade.
